Adoption Process

We request detailed adoption information through email narratives that describe the family's home environment, lifestyle, and any existing pets. At the time of adoption, we require the signing of an Adoption Agreement, which outlines the basic care requirements for the animal, including our return policy. Adoption fees vary based on the adopter's location, whether they reside in our counties or elsewhere in Texas, and range from $65 to $110. All pets are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

The service areas include Coleman and Runnels Counties, as well as the cities of Coleman, Ballinger, Santa Anna, Winters, and other small communities in the region.

Humane Society of Coleman County in Coleman, TX

The Humane Society of Coleman County, which serves Coleman and Runnels Counties, was incorporated in Texas in December 2003 and holds a 501(c)(3) designation. Our primary mission is to provide discounted spay/neuter vouchers to low-income families in our economically challenged rural communities. Additionally, we strive to rescue adoptable pets from the streets and city kill shelters. We are also engaged in educational programs in schools, primarily utilizing KIND News.
