Providing for Paws is dedicated to keeping pets in their family homes and out of shelters by offering food assistance to families in need. The organization also aims to reduce the homeless pet population by encouraging all pets in the household to be spayed or neutered and vaccinated through its programs. Importantly, no individual will be denied food assistance based on their pet's spaying or neutering status. While Providing for Paws is not a rescue organization, it occasionally faces situations where it may need to take in an unwanted or at-risk animal. In such cases, if foster homes are unavailable, the organization will actively collaborate with other rescue groups to find a suitable placement for the animal in need.

Adoption process

The adoption fee is $250 for dogs over six months old and $300 for dogs under six months old. Applicants must successfully complete a home visit, provide an established veterinary record, and adhere to any necessary training or probationary period, particularly for first-time pet owners. All animals available for adoption, except for those under four months of age, are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped, and in good health. Dogs under four months are placed in a foster-to-adopt arrangement until their spay/neuter and microchip procedures are completed.
