Adoption Process

To begin the adoption process, an application must be completed on our website. This application will be reviewed and references will be checked. Following this, a meet and greet will take place at the foster's location. If the meeting goes well, potential adopters may take their new pet home. The adoption fee typically ranges from $100 to $350, with slightly higher fees at our Cape Cod location.

East Coast Adoption Agency in SHERBURNE, NY

Dogs In Danger Rescue, currently operating as East Coast Adoptions, was established in 2007 to assist dogs in urgent need of homes to prevent euthanasia. Over the years, we have successfully re-homed thousands of dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters into caring families. We collaborate with shelters in West Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, Georgia, and Arkansas, where there are insufficient adopters available to save dogs in need. Many of these communities are rural and lack the necessary resources or population to adopt the number of dogs entering shelters daily. Unfortunately, some shelters are forced to euthanize as many as 80% of incoming dogs due to space constraints. Many of these dogs are housebroken, spayed or neutered, and compatible with other pets and children, making them ideal family companions. All dogs receive veterinary care prior to adoption, and all adopters benefit from 30 days of free insurance.
