Adoption process

The adoption process typically takes one to three business days to process your application before it can be forwarded to the foster provider. If additional information is needed, we will reach out to you. Please refrain from calling or emailing about the status of your application until five business days have passed since its submission. 1. Begin by searching for adoptable animals, and complete the application for any animal you wish to meet. 2. The adoption coordinator will review your application and check your veterinary and personal references. 3. The foster provider will arrange a meet-and-greet, which may occur at an adoption event, a public location, or the foster's home. 4. If both the foster and the adopter feel it is a suitable match, a home visit will be scheduled, applicable for dogs only. 5. Upon approval of the home visit, the adoption contract and payment will be processed. 6. Once the payment is made, the adoption contract is signed, and the required age-appropriate veterinary care is completed, the new owners may pick up their pet. All dogs and cats are fully vetted through our partner clinics and will not be adopted until they are spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested as appropriate for their age, up until the day the adoption contract is signed and payment is made. While in foster care, all animals receive deworming and heartworm prevention treatments appropriate for their species and age. Adoption fees are fixed and non-negotiable. Adoption fees vary based on the animal's species, age, health, and duration in rescue, and this fee will be specified in each animal's description. Please note that puppies must be at least eight weeks old to be spayed or neutered prior to adoption, and kittens must be at least eight weeks old and weigh at least two pounds to undergo the same procedure.
