Adoption Process

The adoption process requires that all applications undergo a CCAP background check. Additionally, an in-home inspection may be conducted, and applicants may be asked to provide photographs of their living environment. Personal references and veterinary references are also necessary, with a particular emphasis on obtaining a positive reference from a veterinarian. Furthermore, any existing dogs in the applicant's home must meet the dog they are interested in adopting.

Holster Rescue in Wausau, WI

We are a rescue organization dedicated to saving animals from high-kill shelters in Texas. Our primary focus is on dogs that are overlooked by other rescues and are at imminent risk of euthanasia. Additionally, we assist with local cat rescues when help is needed. Our team is made up entirely of volunteers, and we do not have any salaried employees. Most of our volunteers work full-time jobs while also managing the responsibilities of running the rescue. Everyone is deeply committed to the welfare of the dogs we save, and I take pride in the fact that all of our dogs have found loving homes. We often receive photos and updates from adopters, which reinforces our mission. We are driven by our passion for animals and cannot stand by while they face harm.
