Utah Valley Animal Rescue

Utah Valley Animal Rescue was established by Heathre Hone in July 2014 with the mission to care for sick, undernourished, and unwanted animals while finding them permanent homes. Heathre has a long-standing commitment to animal care, having previously shown Rottweilers and served for many years as a member of Intermountain Therapy Animals (ITA), an organization focused on enhancing quality of life through the human-animal bond. Additionally, she has volunteered at the South Utah Valley Animal Shelter for the past three years, helping to reunite lost pets with their owners. In May 2014, she organized the annual Celebrate Your Pet Event, which served as a fundraiser for the shelter and a source of enjoyment for the community. Over time, Heathre recognized a persistent issue: not all pets are reunited with their owners, and some have been abused or abandoned, leaving them without a voice. These animals require advocacy, and Utah Valley Animal Rescue provides that support. Heathre emphasizes the importance of treating animals with compassion, stating, "Animals have feelings. They can be hurt. They don't deserve to be mistreated. They trust and depend on their owners. Animals are not meant to be thrown away." Utah Valley Animal Rescue collaborates closely with Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, the South Utah Valley Animal Shelter, and local veterinarians to create a safe environment for injured or traumatized cats and dogs to heal and recover until they can be adopted by responsible owners. All animals are spayed or neutered and vaccinated before adoption. A dedicated team works together to ensure the safety and health of all animals in Utah Valley Animal Rescue's care. Heathre expresses their commitment by stating, "We love animals and want to help them." Utah Valley Animal Rescue is dedicated to making a difference, one pet at a time.
