Adoption Process

Potential adopters are required to complete an application and sign a contract. They must commit to providing proper care for the cat, refrain from declawing, and return the cat to us if they are unable to care for it. Typically, the adoption fee is $100, but it may be reduced for older cats.

My husband, a friend, and I have identified a significant need for a cat rescue in our community. Both my husband and I are retired professionals, with his background in database administration and mine in guidance counseling. We are in the initial stages of establishing our organization, beginning with an adoption program. All cats will be fully vetted, with spaying and neutering being mandatory prior to adoption. Education on spaying/neutering and overall cat care will be a key focus of our mission. We have obtained our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and will operate our adoption program through a foster-based model. Our goal is to establish a shelter and adoption center within the next two years. For the past three years, we have collaborated with a local rescue that primarily focuses on dogs, and we recognize the pressing need for a dedicated cat rescue in our area to help address the issue of cat overpopulation.
