Adoption Process

The adoption fees are $150 to $200 for cats and starting at $200 for dogs. To adopt an animal, applicants must complete an adoption application and provide proof of their ability to have pets if they rent. Additional requirements may apply depending on individual circumstances. All animals will have received their initial vaccinations and will be spayed or neutered prior to being placed in a new home.

Four Paws to Love in Santa Cruz, CA

Four Paws to Love was founded in January 2014 by a group of close friends with extensive experience in various animal welfare organizations. Recognizing the need for a new rescue group, they aimed to not only save animals' lives but also highlight the positive impact that pet companionship has on our lives. As a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) organization, our mission is to rescue homeless and at-risk pets from overcrowded shelters, thus helping to reduce euthanasia rates. We deeply value the bond between humans and animals and understand the significant role pets play in enriching our lives. Our objective extends beyond animal rescue; we also strive to assist individuals whose lives are enhanced by adopting animals in need. Four Paws to Love operates entirely through the dedication of volunteers who selflessly contribute their time, homes, and compassion to save lives. Through our Foster Care program, we provide a safe and healthy environment for animals until they can be placed in loving homes. We ensure that all rescued animals are spayed or neutered and actively educate the community on the importance of these practices to help diminish the homeless animal population.
