Del Mar Dog Rescue in San Diego, CA

Del Mar Dog Rescue is a non-profit organization committed to rescuing dogs that have been abused, neglected, abandoned, or are stray. Operated entirely by volunteers, the organization relies on adoption fees and charitable donations for its funding. The mission of Del Mar Dog Rescue is to provide care and companionship to animals that lack a voice. We focus on rescuing dogs that are suffering from abuse, neglect, homelessness, or dire situations. Our goal is to remove these animals from poor living conditions and provide them with proper nutrition and veterinary care. This includes vaccinations, evaluations by veterinarians, necessary treatments, and spaying or neutering to help control overpopulation. We also implement socialization techniques to teach desirable behavior and foster positive interactions with humans, preparing our dogs for integration into loving homes. Our objective is to rescue as many dogs in need as possible, making them adoptable and connecting them with their forever families. Located in Southern California (San Diego, CA), our team of volunteers extends our services to areas in need of comprehensive animal care. We travel to regions where resources are limited, particularly in locations with high rates of animal euthanasia. As a rescue organization, we save puppies and dogs from critical situations, addressing the surplus of abandoned and neglected animals that fill high-kill shelters. The number of dogs we can rescue is dependent on our capacity to care for them and the time it takes to find suitable adopters. Del Mar Dog Rescue has established a strong partnership with PetSmart Store Number 1959 in Puyallup, WA, where we hold adoption events featuring an average of 40 adoptable dogs and puppies at each event. This collaboration has contributed to a steady increase in our annual adoption rates.
