Adoption Process
To begin the adoption process, explore our available animals by browsing our "adoptable animals" section. Take the time to read their bios, and do not hesitate to reach out with any questions to ensure you are well-informed about your potential new family member. Once you have identified an animal you are interested in adopting, you can initiate the adoption process by completing the Adoption Application. This is a necessary step to assess whether your home would be a suitable environment for the pet you have chosen. Submitting the application does not obligate you to adopt a specific animal. We will review your application within 48 hours and will contact you to arrange a meet and greet with your potential new pet. Following the review of your application, we will schedule a meet and greet where you can interact with the pet in person. This meeting allows you to evaluate if the animal is a good match for your family and if the connection feels right. It is essential to familiarize yourself with the basic care requirements of the pet you are considering. We provide care sheets and online tutorials to help you understand the level of commitment involved in adopting the specific species. When you are ready to proceed with the adoption, you will complete an Adoption Agreement. This agreement formalizes your commitment to making the pet a permanent part of your family. We will send you a link to complete the online Adoption Agreement. Before bringing your new pet home, a One Love volunteer will arrange a home check at a time convenient for you. This brief and non-intrusive visit ensures that your home environment will be safe for the new pet. Once the home check is approved, you can take your new family member home that same day, or schedule a different day if needed. Adoption donations vary based on the type of animal and must be paid when you are ready to take your new pet home. Each adoption includes one complimentary veterinary visit after the pet has joined your family. The minimum required donations cover the rescue's costs for spaying/neutering, microchipping, and vaccinations. They do not include expenses for food, housing, grooming, or any additional medical care provided while the animal was in our care. Any extra donations you can offer to support our mission of helping future pets find their forever homes are greatly appreciated.
