Adoption Process

The adoption fee ranges from $250 to $300. If the adopter needs to relinquish the dog, they are required to return the dog to the Rescue as part of the Forever Foster program.

Forgotten Paws Animal Rescue in San Marcos, CA

We specialize in rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming small dogs from high-kill shelters in Southern California, placing them in suitable loving homes in North County San Diego. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we partnered with Petco to hold adoption events every Saturday, successfully rehoming an average of 120 to 150 small dogs each year since our establishment in 2010. In February 2020, Petco suspended its store adoption events with all partner organizations, including ours, due to the pandemic.
