Adoption Process

All adoptions are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. To adopt an animal, you will meet with a staff member who will review your application and either approve or deny your request. Once approved, you will complete the necessary paperwork with our Customer Service Specialist. This includes finalizing an adoption contract, receiving all medical records, registering the microchip in your name, and completing licensing if you reside in the city of Elk Grove. Adoption fees are as follows: - Puppies under 1 year old: $150 - Adult dogs 1 year and older, weighing 1 to 20 pounds: $150 - Adult dogs 1 year and older, weighing 21 pounds and above: $100 - Kittens aged 2 to 6 months: $75 - Adult cats 6 months and older: $40 - Senior special (applies to senior pets or adopters over 65): $25 - Rabbits: $25 - Other small mammals: $10
