Adoption Process

FAR Side Journey typically charges an adoption fee ranging from $150 to $400. To be considered for pet adoption, potential adopters must complete an application and sign a contract before receiving approval.

Our mission is to establish a Foster, Adoption, and Rescue (FAR) network to ensure that no owner-relinquished or stray animal remains in a municipal shelter awaiting adoption or faces potential euthanasia due to overcrowding. FAR Side Journey is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization recognized as a 501(c)(3). We are committed to saving the lives of shelter animals through rescue efforts, education, and support for other rescue organizations and municipal animal shelters. Our goal is to provide all animals with a safe environment while they await adoption. We also offer Fospice care for animals diagnosed with life-limiting injuries and non-contagious illnesses, as well as permanent foster care for animals with special needs and supportive fostering for our partner organizations. Our vision is to reach a point where municipal animal shelters do not have to euthanize any adoptable companion animals.
