Adoption Process

We showcase available dogs on our website, as well as on Petfinder and Adoptapet. We hold weekly adoption events at PetCo. When a dog meets a potential adopter, the adopter is required to complete an application. We then review the application, conduct interviews with all family members, and perform a home check to ensure a suitable environment for the dog. We also verify approval from landlords. Our adoption contract stipulates that if the adopter no longer wishes to keep the dog, they must return the dog to us and are not permitted to rehome the dog or take it to a shelter. Adoption fees are $250 for adult dogs and $450 for puppies under six months. All dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, vaccinated against rabies, and microchipped.

No Wagging Tails Left Behind Animal Rescue in San Diego, CA

Wagging Tails is a non-profit rescue organization dedicated to placing hundreds of dogs in loving homes each year. We are committed to providing ongoing support to adopters and their new pets. Operated entirely by volunteers and funded through donations, our primary mission is to care for dogs in need and help them find nurturing homes. The initiative known as "No Wagging Tail Left Behind" was established by founder Sandy Hill, who started rescuing more than six dogs each week, primarily from El Centro, to help them find homes. With the support of board members Jean Whitney and Laura Morkan, Wagging Tails achieved non-profit status on May 12, 2012. Since then, the organization has expanded its volunteer base, allowing us to manage paperwork and participate in adoption events more effectively.
