Cats In Need of Human Care Whittier Chapter in Whittier, CA

Cats In Need of Human Care is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization consisting of a network of volunteers with several independently operating chapters throughout Orange County. Our chapter, Cats In Need of Human Care Whittier, serves Whittier and surrounding cities, and we welcome interest in fostering or adopting from various areas. By increasing the number of foster homes, we can save more lives. We are proud to offer an internship program for middle school and high school students, allowing them to interact with the cats under adult supervision. This program provides the cats with essential human interaction, exercise, and affection. Our adoption fees range from $100 to $150, which helps cover basic care, food, spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and veterinary visits. Prospective adopters must complete an adoption form, and we will assess whether you and your chosen cat are a good match. Questions may include whether your pet will be kept outdoors, if they will be declawed, and whether there are other pets or children in the household. If a cat does not adapt well to your home, we require that you return them to Cats In Need Whittier. We are open for adoptions every weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 5 PM, and we are located inside PetSmart Whittier. Cats In Need of Human Care is dedicated to finding loving homes for homeless pets, promoting spaying/neutering, and encouraging responsible pet ownership. As a completely volunteer-run organization, we focus on placing cats into forever homes. Our available cats are showcased online through our Facebook page, RescueMe.org, and AdoptAPet.com. We rely on donations to provide essential care, including food and medical services, for the cats until they are adopted. With many shelters overwhelmed, our efforts help prevent the euthanasia of these animals due to overcrowding and limited resources. Help us help the cats!
