Adoption Process

As part of our application process, we conduct home and yard safety checks, which are performed by volunteers in designated geographic areas. Additionally, we screen applicants to identify those who best meet the needs of a Bichon.

Service Areas

We primarily place our bichons and bichon mixes within California, but we also serve Arizona, Nevada, and Washington. If you reside outside of Southern California and are willing to travel to the area to meet one of our dogs, we would be glad to assist you. For those living beyond our service area who are passionate about bichons, we can provide referrals to other bichon rescue organizations.

Bichon FurKids in Carlsbad, CA

Bichon FurKids is dedicated to rescuing Bichons, Bichon mixes, and other small dogs that can no longer remain with their original guardians. Our organization is committed to improving the lives of the dogs we rescue and re-home. This commitment is reflected in the efforts of our volunteers, who foster, transport, groom, and assist with various activities related to the rescue of these beloved animals. In May 2013, we celebrated our 2000th adoption, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of our volunteers that helped us achieve this milestone. We are determined to continue our efforts. Additionally, we aim to educate the community about issues such as puppy mills and pet stores, the significance of spaying and neutering pets, and the medical and holistic treatments that can enhance the well-being of our animals. We strive to promote responsible pet guardianship among all members of the community.
