Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with the completion of an application and contract. We will conduct an interview via email or phone. Adoption fees vary based on specific circumstances. We require adopters to pledge to keep cats indoors and typically place kittens in pairs or with homes that already have a young cat. We believe that pets and children can coexist harmoniously, and we are willing to assist families in adopting an older kitten. It is essential for us to meet any young kittens and observe their interactions with both the children and parents before finalizing an adoption.

Bitten By A Kitten Rescue in San Pablo, CA

BBAK's mission is to reduce the number of unwanted cats and kittens in our community. Bitten By A Kitten Rescue is a private kitten rescue located in the East Bay. We focus on rescuing orphaned kittens from the community as well as those at risk of euthanasia in local shelters. We only accept kittens from private homes if we can ensure that the mother cat is spayed. Our kittens are raised in a nurturing environment, receiving love and attention to help them develop into affectionate and well-adjusted house pets. All kittens at Bitten By A Kitten Rescue are spayed or neutered to prevent further contributions to the significant cat overpopulation crisis in the country. Additionally, each kitten is treated for fleas with either Revolution or Advantage, wormed at least once, and has received their first FVRCP vaccinations. One kitten from each litter has tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and all have been examined by a veterinarian and deemed healthy. They are well-socialized, fully litter box trained, and exhibit no undesirable behaviors.
