Adoption process

Krazy for Kats is committed to placing all kittens and cats in loving, responsible, and dedicated homes. Each pet comes with an adoption application and contract that must be completed. Potential adopters will participate in a thorough phone consultation to discuss their application. We may also request to visit your home to assess the living conditions and evaluate any existing pets before finalizing the adoption and for future check-ups. Kittens are available for adoption when they are at least 9 to 12 weeks old. We typically recommend adopting young kittens in pairs or alongside older cats. Adoption fees, which range from $75 to $200, cover the first one to three years of medical care, depending on the age of the cat. A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve kittens for adoption at a later date. All kittens and cats will receive veterinary exams, microchips, current vaccinations, spaying or neutering, testing for FeLV/FIV, de-worming, and de-flea treatments. Their nails will also be kept trimmed. Adopters will receive a folder containing medical records and important information about their new pet. Each adopter will also receive a goody bag filled with toys, kitty food, and valuable resources for caring for their new companion. Donations that exceed the adoption fee are greatly appreciated.
