Adoption Process

Adoption fees depend on the age, size, and breed of the pet. All applications must be approved. In most cases, home checks will be conducted. Applicants must be over 21 years of age and possess a valid California Driver's License or a California ID Card. All pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, with rabies vaccinations provided only if specified. Adoptions are typically limited to Southern California, although exceptions may be made occasionally.

Service Areas

We primarily serve the Southern California area for adoptions; however, exceptions may be made on occasion.

Pet Adoption Fund in Canoga Park, CA

Pet Adoption Fund is the largest private non-profit, no-kill rescue organization in Southern California, established in 1983. Our team consists mainly of dedicated volunteers, and we rely entirely on private donations and adoption fees for our operations. Our mission is to rescue, shelter, and find loving permanent homes for many wonderful companion animals that have been abandoned, neglected, or abused, with a special focus on senior pets and those with physical challenges. On average, our facility accommodates approximately 175 dogs and 80 cats of various sizes, ages, and breeds, all of whom are eagerly waiting for the opportunity to find a great home.
