Cattledog Dreams in San Leandro, CA
Cattledog Dreams is a non-profit organization focused on the care, training, and placement of Australian Cattle Dogs and their mixes. We rescue these dogs from shelters in Northern California and assist owners in rehoming their pets. The organization was founded by Director Jennifer Andersen, who has a deep passion for this intelligent and loyal breed. Jennifer observed that Cattle Dogs often struggle in shelter environments due to stress from isolation, confinement with other dogs of varying temperaments, and limited exercise opportunities. This stress can lead to them appearing unfriendly and unadoptable, resulting in a high euthanasia rate for the breed. Cattledog Dreams was established to prevent this tragic loss of life for dogs that thrive on companionship with people.
