Adoption Process

The adoption process includes several steps: submitting an adoption application, conducting reference and veterinarian checks, completing a home study, participating in an interview, arranging a meet and greet, signing a contract, paying the adoption fee, which varies by species, and finally bringing your new pet home.

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing animals in need, rehabilitating them, and providing professional training to prepare them as therapy dogs. Our mission includes placing these trained animals in homes where they can serve the community. We specifically focus on rescuing, rehabilitating, and training special needs animals to support individuals with special needs. All of our animals receive training and rehabilitation at Unleashed Canine Training Academy in Troy, Virginia.
