Adoption Process

All applicants are required to complete an adoption application and may need to undergo a home visit and an interview with an adoption counselor and the director. The adoption fee for dogs begins at $100, which covers annual vaccinations, a three-year rabies vaccine, spaying or neutering, and a microchip. For cats, the adoption fee starts at $50 and includes annual vaccinations, a three-year rabies vaccine, spaying or neutering, testing for FIV and FeLV, and a microchip.

Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR), established in 1996, is a 501(c)(3) IRS tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing and sheltering abandoned, abused, and neglected pets. The organization rehabilitates these animals and finds them new homes. APR is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida, where volunteers manage daily operations. The organization is committed to the welfare of all animals, caring for over 300 pets, including cats, dogs, bunnies, birds, and other animals in need.
