Virginia Donkey Rescue in Concord, VA
Virginia Donkey Rescue is dedicated to preventing the neglect, abuse, and abandonment of donkeys in Virginia. Our goal is to ensure that donkeys do not end up at auctions or in kill pens. We tackle the root causes of these issues by educating current and prospective donkey owners and welfare advocates, providing them with the necessary resources and referrals. Our rescue program offers a safe and economically viable alternative to auctions and kill pens, allowing for tax-deductible donations. We operate the organization in a streamlined and self-sufficient manner, minimizing dependence on donors, grants, and external funding. Adoption process
The adopter completes an application, which is subsequently verified. The standard adoption fee is $250, although it may be higher depending on the size of the donkey or other specific factors. Female donkeys cannot be bred and cannot be placed with intact males.
