Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with a phone interview. If the interview is successful, you will then have the opportunity to meet the cats. Once you have chosen a cat, an adoption contract will be completed, and a date for a home visit will be scheduled. A trained volunteer will conduct the home visit. If everything is satisfactory, the cat will be placed in your home, and the volunteer will collect the $89 adoption fee. After the adoption, follow-up calls will be made to check on how the adjustment is going.

Safe Haven for Animals in Scottsdale, AZ

Safe Haven for Animals is a no-kill shelter located in Scottsdale, Arizona, that provides a free-roam environment for approximately 65 cats at any given time, with numbers increasing significantly during kitten season. Our primary goal is to find loving, safe homes for every companion animal. Animals that are not adopted will receive food, shelter, veterinary care, and love, ensuring they have a safe place to live out their lives. Founded in late 2004 as a nonprofit organization, Safe Haven for Animals cares for sick, elderly, neglected, abused, and abandoned cats, as well as those lost or displaced due to human circumstances such as moves or relationship changes. All work at Safe Haven is performed by dedicated volunteers, with no paid staff members. Our annual expenses, which total approximately $40,000, cover rent, utilities, repairs, medical care, food, litter, and other supplies. These costs are funded solely through donations, volunteer time, supplies, independent grants, garage sale fundraisers featuring donated items, and adoption fees ranging from $79 to $89. The number of animals we can support is closely tied to our financial resources. We rely on the generosity of the community we serve and encourage everyone we encounter to consider supporting Safe Haven as a worthy cause. Any financial contributions we receive are directed toward our operating expenses, helping us maintain our shelter for as long as possible. We are committed to providing a lifetime of care for these extraordinary animals.
