Adoption Process
The adoption process involves several steps to ensure a suitable match between the animal and the adopter. First, we conduct an application screening to review the potential adopter's information. This is followed by a background check to assess suitability. We also perform a DNA or Do Not Foster (DNF) review, as well as a check of the applicant's social media presence. Next, we schedule a meet and greet between the adopter and the animal. If this goes well, we proceed with a home check to ensure a safe environment for the animal. Once all checks are completed, an adoption contract is signed. We also offer a sleepover option to allow the adopter to spend an extended period with the animal before finalizing the adoption. Adoption fees range from $50 to $125.

Lifeline Oro Valley Animal Rescue in Oro Valley, AZ
In 2012, I co-founded No Kill Pima County to promote non-lethal solutions for shelter animals. I established Lifeline Oro Valley Animal Rescue (LOVAR) to address the needs of at-risk shelter animals. LOVAR is a non-profit organization recognized as a 501(c)(3) by the Arizona Corporate Commission and the IRS. It operates entirely through the dedication of volunteers and serves as an all-breed and special needs rescue for cats and dogs, regardless of breed, age, size, or type. The organization focuses on aiding the most vulnerable animals, with 90% of its rescues being special needs animals that shelters often deem least adoptable. LOVAR has successfully rescued and placed bonded pairs, senior animals, orphaned kittens and puppies, and those that are abandoned or injured into loving homes. As a staunch advocate of the "no-kill" philosophy, LOVAR is committed to ensuring that no animal is euthanized due to a lack of resources. The organization is also the first animal rescue in Oro Valley to support companion animal owners through education and resources while addressing the needs of dogs and cats within the community. LOVAR raises funds to cover the care of its rescued animals, including spaying, neutering, vaccinations, medical tests, treatments, veterinary care, training, rehabilitation, and general care, primarily through public donations. It is approved to receive donations and grants and holds a Gold Rating on GUIDESTAR. The organization complies with all state and national ethical fundraising standards set by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and is fully insured and bonded. Additionally, PETCO Oro Valley Market Place serves as its primary rescue partner.
