Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with an application, as the dogs reside in my home. We conduct reference checks before potential adopters meet the animals, ensuring that they are pre-approved. If applicants do not meet our vetting standards, they will be declined. We provide a contract that outlines the responsibilities for care and veterinary services, as well as our return policy. Adoption fees vary between $50 and $250, depending on the age and breed of the dog.

Greener Days Ahead Rescue in Mount Vernon, AR

Gdar is a small, home-based animal rescue primarily focused on accepting strays and owner surrenders, with occasional shelter pulls when space permits. Currently, we have a limited capacity of 10 animals and do not utilize foster homes. We are in the process of building our own facility, which is set to begin on September 26, 2016. Once completed, our intake capacity should double, depending on the availability of donations. We are one of the fastest-growing rescues in the area and are now in our second year as a 501(c)(3) organization. My passion for dogs led me to rescue; I started my journey with transport and fostering for another organization that remains close to my heart. However, I decided to establish Gdar due to the lack of municipal animal services in our county and the surrounding hundreds of small towns.
