Southern States Rescued Rottweilers in White Hall, AR
Southern States Rescued Rottweilers, Inc. is committed to rescuing Rottweilers across eleven states. Our mission relies heavily on the dedication and hard work of our volunteers. Joining SSRR as a volunteer is straightforward. Interested individuals can complete and submit our Volunteer Application. We invite you to learn more about how you can contribute to our cause. Foster Homes: We urgently need foster homes as more Rottweilers are entering shelters. Foster care involves temporarily housing a Rottweiler and providing basic needs such as food, water, and shelter. SSRR covers the medical expenses for the Rottweilers in our program, minimizing out-of-pocket costs for foster families. We encourage foster homes to keep their dogs indoors to help them adjust to household environments and to better assess their personalities and suitable living situations. Crating the foster dog when unsupervised is recommended. Foster families must complete a Basic Dog Obedience course within 30 days of becoming a foster family to ensure the dog develops good manners for its future home. Home Checks: We require volunteers to conduct home checks, which are necessary before an individual can adopt a Rottweiler. This involves visiting the potential adopter's home, assessing the living conditions for the dog, asking questions from our home visit form, and verifying that the home is ready for the responsibilities of a new pet. Home checks play a critical role in placing dogs in safe and secure environments. Transport: There is a high demand for transport assistance within SSRR. Since we allow adopters to choose from dogs outside their state of residence, we often need to coordinate transport for adopted Rottweilers between states. Volunteers help by covering various segments of the transport, typically ranging from 50 to 100 miles. Before planning a road trip, consider checking with SSRR to see if you can help transport a dog to its forever home. Public Education: In addition to rescuing Rottweilers, we aim to educate the community about the breed. We often set up booths at local dog events and need volunteers to distribute promotional materials and engage with attendees about Rottweiler rescue, the importance of spaying and neutering, and general information about Rottweilers. Administrative Areas: We also seek volunteers for administrative tasks including fundraising, advertising, secretarial work, and correspondence. If you have skills in these areas, we welcome your assistance. Anyone with a genuine love for Rottweilers can and should be involved in rescue efforts. Contributing just a small amount of your time can lead to immeasurable rewards. If you are interested in joining our organization and reside in one of our covered states, please complete our Volunteer Application. For those outside our coverage area, many other rescues would greatly appreciate your help. SSRR is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and your donations are tax-deductible. All contributions support our rescue and educational initiatives. Donations can be sent to: SSRR, Inc., c/o Linda Whigham SSRR Treasurer, PO Box 21133 White Hall, AR 71612
