Adoption Process

If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application on our website. We will review your application and conduct reference checks. For dogs and special needs animals, a home check is required. You will also need to sign an adoption contract at the time of adoption.

Appalachian Peace Paws Rescue is a dedicated team of volunteers committed to transforming the lives of animals in need. We prioritize educating the public about the significance of spaying and neutering, trap-neuter-return (TNR) for community cats, and providing proper care for special needs animals. We offer presentations to interested groups, classes, and other educational venues. Our organization advocates for TNR programs to effectively reduce the population of homeless animals in shelters and decrease the rates of euthanasia. We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating animals to prepare them for adoption. Our rescues come from various sources, including owner surrenders, high-kill shelters, abandoned situations, feral colonies, and instances of neglect.
