Adoption Process

The adoption process includes several steps: submitting an application, signing a contract, participating in an interview, completing a reference check, and undergoing a home visit. A fee of $200 is required, which covers the cost of a fully vetted pet. This includes spaying or neutering, rabies vaccination, heartworm testing, fecal testing, deworming, general vaccinations, flea treatment, and any additional necessary veterinary care.

Animal Control and Welfare Project, Inc in Hinton, WV

We are a nonprofit organization operating under 501(c)(3) status, relying on foster homes, donors, and volunteers to support our mission. Due to limited resources and the absence of a local shelter, we face significant challenges; each occupied foster space means fewer dogs we can rescue. If we cannot accept dogs from our animal control officer, they may unfortunately face euthanasia. We have built a strong rescue network, but we believe that spaying, neutering, and education are essential solutions to address this issue.
