A Day in My Paws Hi there! I’m Riley — professional tail-wagger, snack enthusiast, and full-time best friend. My job? Making sure my human smiles at least a hundred times a day. (I take this very seriously.) Mornings are my favorite. The second I hear my human stir, I’m up and ready. I stretch my legs, give a big yawn, and trot over to greet them with my best “good morning” tail swish. Sometimes I bring them one of my toys — not because I want to share, but because I think they should admire it. After breakfast, it’s adventure time. I patrol the yard like a brave little soldier, sniffing every corner for important news. The grass tells me who’s been here, the wind carries stories from far away, and the birds… well, they gossip a lot. When my human moves, I move. If they’re in the living room, I’m on the rug. If they’re in the kitchen, I’m right underfoot — just in case something delicious “accidentally” falls. I’m not nosy, I’m helpful. Playtime is pure magic. I chase balls, tug ropes, and sometimes invent my own games, like “bury the toy in the couch cushions.” My human laughs a lot when I do that, and I think laughter might be my favorite sound in the world. By evening, I’m ready for snuggles. I curl up close, resting my head on their leg, feeling safe and warm. My eyes get heavy, and I drift into dreams filled with running, chasing, and endless treats.  Tomorrow, I’ll do it all again — because every day with my human is the best day ever. And I wouldn’t trade my spot by their side for all the bones in the world.  New Beginnings Shepherd Rescue is a volunteer-based rescue, we work very hard to help as many adoptable GSDs as possible. Most of our dogs come from high kill shelters across the country, so sadly we do not have any background information on them.....and we work very hard to get to know each and every dog brought into our program in need of a new beginning in their lives. We do not take animals with aggression problems (some may not like other dogs, cats, or may require older kids as opposed to younger children, but we will let you know everything that we know) most of these beautiful dogs have been faithful and loving family pets for their entire lives, yet still have lost their homes and families through no fault of their own. If you are interested in opening your heart and home to one of these amazing dogs please email [email protected] and put Request for Adoption Application in the subject line. If you don't hear from us in 3 days, please send us a gentle reminder and one of us will get right on it.
