More about Puddle

Puddle is a young German Shepherd with a sweet heart and so much potential. While he may not have had much structure or guidance in his previous home, he’s already shown us just how eager he is to learn and grow. With the right person by his side, we know this boy is going to absolutely blossom. Because of his breed and personality, Puddle would thrive with someone who understands Shepherds and is committed to continuing his confidence-building journey. Though he was surrendered for not being potty trained, Puddle has surprised everyone with how well he’s done in the shelter—he keeps his kennel clean and has yet to have a single accident! Puddle can be a little sensitive to loud noises or sudden movements, but he walks beautifully on leash and prefers staying close to his people where he feels safe and secure. He would likely benefit from crate training in his future home, both to help maintain good habits and to give him a cozy space of his own to decompress in. He has not shown any reactivity toward other dogs and actually seems eager to make canine friends. We’re always happy to help with dog meet-and-greets if needed! Puddle may need a little time to warm up to new people, but he’s been handling new experiences like a champ. Gentle affection, patience, and yummy treats are definitely the way to win him over. And once he’s comfortable, his adorable little zoomies come out, and it’s impossible not to smile. As a working breed, Puddle will do best with positive outlets for both his energy and his brain—walks, training, enrichment, and quality time with his people will help him thrive. Puddle is truly such a good boy, and we’ve been incredibly proud of the progress he’s already making. He’s ready for a family willing to believe in him, guide him, and love him through this next chapter of life.
