More about Turkish (Courtesy Listing)

Turkish is not currently up for adoption at our shelter - instead we are helping his owner, Cathy, by listing him as a Courtesy Listing in hopes we can help the owner find someone that will welcome Turkish into their home! Cathy's (owner) contact info is down below for anyone potentially interested. Turkish is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Turkish is a beautiful, white and buff, 8 yr old male cat. From his profile, he always appears to be smiling :) Turkish has had a a few homes before residing in Iowa.  He has been part of a 'family' of other pets, but would ideally be the sole pet for someone, as he strives to be the center of attention.   Turkish can often be found cuddled up to and even 'bathing' the other pets.  On other occasions, he will give the dog a swat to start a chase or show he's 'the boss' to the other cat.   Turkish likes scratching posts and his favorite rainbow toy shows up in whatever room he was in last.  He loves a soft blanket to make biscuits on and keeping watch for birds and squirrels from our second story outdoor deck.  He also enjoys a fenced backyard to sniff around and he comes to the door when he's ready to come back in.   Turkish is a good eater.  He'll eat dry or wet pet food and really enjoys seafood-flavored Churo treats!  (and if he smells salmon, he'll come running!)  He drinks from a heavy bowl of water on a tray; he likes to play with the water after getting his drink.  He has good litter habits; no worries.   He has a brand new carrier.  He was not sure about getting in it the first time - it was a struggle, but he quieted down and now it's his special place. He takes his naps in it.   He likely initially thought he was going to be transported to the vet - he is not at all fond of strangers handling him, but did better on his last visit.  In general, he does not like to be held. Turkish is an active, silly, and sometimes naughty cat - when he wants food and the clock says it's too early, he may scratch at something - thus, the scratching poles are good to have. Turkish is very photogenic and it's hard not to admire his beautiful coat and fall for his warm snuggling on the sofa.  He will communicate his needs for food and affection, and he will keep you cozy and amused as he becomes king of the castle.   Please contact Cathy email: [email protected] Phone: (319) 412-5071
