Nester came to us as a stray after crossing paths with her finder on a local walking trail. She was walking alone with no human nearby, so the finder contacted our Animal Control Officers to get her to safety. Friendly toward both the finder and their dog, and appearing thin, she may have been roaming for quite some time.At the shelter, she met another dog and was timid at first—tail tucked and unsure—yet still very friendly. She allowed polite sniffs, then began wiggling and even army crawling to gently lick her new friend’s face. Because she was a stray, we do not know how she interacts with cats.Nester is still learning how to walk on a leash. She sometimes needs encouragement and may prefer being carried when she feels uncertain.
