More about Sammy

Sammy is a very handsome, intelligent, affectionate 6-year-old german shepherd.  Sammy is looking for a new family because, after many years of living together, the resident alpha male husky no longer accepts him. He gets along with other dogs and children.  He enjoys walks with other dogs and is very gentle with the resident daschund.   He loves his children and watches over them. Sammy’s family loves him very much and want the best for him.    Their goal is for Sammy to go to a home with kids and have lots of room to run. He stays close by his people no matter where he is, so a small farm would be wonderful for him. He is also great as a bring-your-dog-to-work dog. He will lay in the office and take his job of staying by his person’s side very seriously. An active family who enjoys taking walks and hiking would be perfect since he is the best hiking buddy. Sammy is very smart and already knows the following commands: Sit; down; stay; out; come; fetch; place; wait. He is also leash and crate trained, and has great recall when off leash. Sammy is ecollar trained through Sit Means Sit.  His new family must be comfortable with using an ecollar, being a strong leader for him and maintaining his training.
