More about Chop
Meet Chop — a sweet, goofy boy with a big heart and an even bigger love for life. Chop is a 5-year-old, 48-pound affectionate boy who was picked up as a stray and spent at least four months in the shelter before coming into foster care. Despite his long wait, he’s remained friendly, playful, and wonderfully sweet with everyone he meets. This happy guy gets along well with other dogs and has a gentle, easygoing temperament. While he hasn’t been formally tested with kids, he shows no signs of reactivity or resource guarding and has a naturally soft, submissive personality that suggests he would do well in a family home. Chop does have a prey drive and should not live with cats - he becomes very focused and will chase if they run. He’s also still learning basic commands and recall, so he should remain on-leash or in a secure area for now. Neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and on prevention, Chop is ready for a home where he can just be part of the action, continue to learn and finally settle into the love and stability he deserves.
