Adoption fee: $650 Meet Chimichurri — Your Tiny Shadow with a Big Personality At just 3–4 months old and about 8 pounds, Chimichurri (affectionately known as “Chimi”) is a Mini Schnauzer mix puppy who packs a whole lot of charm into a very small package. Rescued from the shelter, this happy-go-lucky little guy bounced into foster care ready to love, play, and make himself right at home— and that’s exactly what he did. From day one, Chimi has been equal parts playful explorer and devoted cuddle buddy, always ready to zoom around the yard or climb into your lap for belly rubs. Chimi has a wonderful balance of puppy energy and affectionate sweetness— but what really sets him apart is how enthusiastically he throws himself into loving his people. Call his name, and he’ll come running full speed, launching himself into your lap with total joy. Chimichurri’s Daily Routine He starts his day bright and early at 6:30 AM with a potty break outside, followed by some playtime in his pen. Breakfast is served at 7:00 AM, and after another potty break, he’s usually ready to settle in for his first nap by 8:00 AM, heading into his crate with a chew stick and soothing puppy music. Around 11:30 AM to noon, Chimi wakes up for lunch and playtime in the yard or pen, followed by another afternoon nap from about 1:30 PM to 3:30 or 4:00 PM. After some evening play and a quick power nap, he enjoys hanging out in the living room, pen, or backyard. Dinner is at 7:00 PM, and the day winds down with cozy couch snuggles before his final potty break at 9:30 PM. Chimi sleeps through the night in a crate next to his foster family’s bed, lightly covered with white noise to help him relax. He’s already proving to be an excellent nighttime sleeper. Personality: Playful, Curious, and a Champion Cuddler Chimichurri is a cheerful, confident little puppy who settled into foster life immediately. He bonded quickly with his foster mom and, while initially a bit cautious with his foster dad, warmed up quickly with the help of a few tasty treats. He loves toys and can happily entertain himself in his pen, but he’s just as excited to engage in interactive play like tug-of-war or chasing a flirt pole. After he’s burned off some puppy energy, he transforms into an enthusiastic cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to be as close to his person as possible. Chimi does enjoy following his humans from room to room, but he also has a healthy independent streak and enjoys exploring his surroundings. He’s already learned the “sit” command and is eager to keep learning more. Social Life: Dog-Friendly and a Quick Learner Chimi gets along wonderfully with his foster family’s resident dogs— one large and one small— and has even convinced their typically grumpy dog, Ziggy, to play with him. He loves shadowing his canine friends and learns quickly by watching them. In fact, he figured out how to go up and down stairs within his first week simply by copying what they did. While he hasn’t yet lived with children, he shows friendly curiosity toward the neighbor’s kids and enjoys watching them play. With proper introductions and supervision, he is expected to do well in a home with respectful children. Energy Level: Playful with a Snuggly Side Chimi is very much a puppy—playful, energetic, and always ready for fun—but he also has a soft, affectionate side. He loves exploring the yard, sunbathing with his dog friends, and then curling up for cuddles. He will happily climb into your lap, press himself as close as possible, and politely request belly rubs. His favorite way to end the day is snuggling on the couch with his favorite person. Like most puppies his age, Chimi is teething and may occasionally mistake socks or slippers for toys. He’s also curious about outdoor treasures like sticks, mulch, and dried flowers—typical puppy exploration behavior. What Makes Chimichurri Special Chimi has a joyful, affectionate spirit that shines through in everything he does. The moment you call his name, he comes running— tail wagging— ready to leap into your lap and shower you with love. He’s playful, curious, eager to learn, and deeply devoted to his people. Favorite quirk: His nightly ritual of snuggling on the couch and gently “cobbing” (adorable puppy nibbling) his favorite human before bed. If you’re looking for a small puppy with a big heart, a playful personality, and an endless supply of cuddles, Chimichurri may be the perfect addition to your family.
