More about Smokey

This handsome brindle, heeler mix boy is Smokey (aka Stetson, as his foster likes to call him).  He is  7 months old and weighs 50 pounds (as of 6/30).  Smokey is up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped, and currently being fostered in PA. According to his foster mom, Smokey is a very good boy.  He currently lives with 2 cats and 3 dogs and he gets along with all of them.  He will chase and tackle the cats in a playful way and the cats don't mind because they are used to dogs.  Since he's a smart boy, his foster thinks it would be easy to train him not to bother cats. He is willing to share with the other pups in the house, he displays no form of aggression, or food or resource guarding.  He loves the other dogs and just wants to play and run around with them.  He is a big puppy with matching big puppy energy and antics. In terms of training, he's crate trained and doesn't mind going in one bit - in fact the foster will often put him in for a few short breaks during the day so the other older dogs can get a break from playing with him.  He's working on potty training.  He will go to the door and scratch when he wants to go out...but often it's because he wants to go outside to play.  He walks on a leash with the other dogs, but could use a little one on one training. The best part is that he loves to be with his human.  He will nudge his foster when he's craving attention.  He loves to sit on your lap if you let him, and when he gets tired he will snuggle up next to you for belly rubs and loving.  He's the definition of a big cuddle bug!  He would do great with an active family with kids!
