If you happen to be looking for a furry four legged therapist, then look no further. Next time you come to one of our adoption events, pause and talk a talk a minute to Butterbean-- because he loves to listen. He is shy, adoption events are loud, and he hides his face in his legs. If you were to be around Butterbean when it's quiet, you would see another cat emerge. He loves to be talked to and will peer at you as if listening intently. He doesn't judge and is here to support. At times his whiskers look like a sophisticated moustache and the white spot on his chest resembles a collar on a white shirt. This quiet, shy, professional gentleman is soft inside and out. He is looking for a home that is patient and will give him time to gain trust. Butterbean is a front claw declaw. This is a procedure we oppose, and while it hasn't given him any special requirements, we have found that most declawed cats prefer lightweight litter.  He tolerates other cats but is not interested in a playmate and would prefer to be the one and only cat in your life. If you’d like to meet Butterbean, please fill out a cat adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a meet with an approved adopter! You can also meet Butterbean at out weekly adoption event every Saturday 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at PetSmart Eastgate. Our cats are fully vetted and we require indoor-only homes. All other pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on all vaccines. We will not send cats to home where they will be declawed as it is a harmful practice that can cause lifelong physical and behavioral problems. Our cats are all spayed/neutered, vaccinated, combo tested, dewormed, and microchipped.
