More about Bella3
Bella is an incredibly sweet pup. For a girl who was afraid of everyone she has now begun to treasure moments of time with caregivers who have worked and who continue to work with her to overcome her fears. She is a gentle, sweet soul who just needs that special someone who will build her trust so that she will believe that her world is safe. Her world needs to move forward with baby steps until she is comfortable. At 9 months old, she weighs 47 pounds and is expected to be in the medium size range (somewhere up to 60 pounds) when fully grown. You can tell she is a German shepherd mix by taking a look at the coloring of her short coat. Shepherd mixes are generally known to be smart, loyal, and affectionate. They can be energetic and therefore need plenty of exercise to prevent boredom. She is a great gal and does well with other dogs. In fact, she would do best with another dog (or more) in the home to help her to continue to build confidence. Due to her shyness, she would prefer older kids over the age of 5 in the home that can respect when she's worried and needs space. She has not had the opportunity to be introduced to a cat since coming into rescue. This girl is one smart cookie because she has aced her house and crate training skills. Her other goal is to master her leash walking skills. Daily short walks (under thirty minutes) will be a good opportunity to work on leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to her with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along her walk. Please note: She may not be a running companion until after age one when her growth plate closes. It is important to remember that although she is housetrained, accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. Bella will also appreciate free time in the back yard to burn off energy. Keeping her mind active with activities that provide physical and mental stimulation is a must. Bella loves to be outside. It is her favorite place to be.Bella will need a family that is willing to be patient with her while she takes the time to build trust and confidence. She is full of wonderful potential and when her full personality blossoms, you will not be disappointed. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine.
