Meet Rita! Rita’s story is one of heartbreaking loyalty and incredible resilience. This very sweet two-year-old girl was dumped on the side of a road—and stayed there for days, refusing to leave. Even as people tried to help, she would run away, waiting faithfully for the person who left her behind. Despite everything she’s been through, Rita’s heart is still wide open. She’s about 36 pounds of pure love and joy, ready to share her gentle and affectionate nature with a family of her own. Rita has had puppies in the past, but she is now spayed, heartworm negative, and fully up to date on her vaccinations. Rita is both potty trained and kennel trained, making her an easy companion to welcome into your home. She’s also dog-friendly and does best with dogs her size or larger. Right now, Rita is stuck in boarding with nowhere to go, and she urgently needs a foster or—better yet—a forever home where she can finally feel safe and loved. Rita has been waiting long enough.
