03/30/26 17:04 Purse string suture remains intact, rectum has not yet re-prolapsed, pt is having firmer stools (fecal score 4-5/7) than on intake. Skin slowly improving on antibitoics and anti-itch medications. 3/13/26Luke is a 4 year castrated pit bull who presented to shelter with a heart murmur, rectal prolapse, chronic uncontrolled skin allergies with secondary infection, and underweight with diarrhea. Diarrhea and weight loss may be related to a chronic gut disease (e.g. food allergy or IBD or other) or unrelated to one another. Luke is in need of urgent rescue to a rescue group financially able to rehabilitate and maintain a severely skin allergic dog. Patient may need dermatology consult, cardiology consultation, and/or internal medicine consult in the future for his various comorbidities.Shelter has replaced rectum with purse string suture on 3/13 and started pt on hypoallergenic diet, steroids, antibiotics for skin. Skin culture was performed to guide antibiotic therapy.
