Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Zeno finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Zeno | 1-Year-Old Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix | Shy Little Snugglebug Zeno is a 1-year-old, 11-pound Chihuahua/Dachshund mix with a tan-and-white coat and the cutest little prance. He can be shy at first, but once he feels safe, he quickly turns into a total cuddle bug—rolling over for belly rubs, resting his head on you, and gently offering his paw for more love. Zeno is still building confidence and can be nervous with new experiences, especially leashes, which are currently scary for him. Because of this, a home with a securely fenced yard is important while he continues to work on leash training. He has a low-to-medium energy level, enjoying short bursts of play (and some adorable zoomies) followed by long naps with his people. He loves crinkly toys, chew bones, and car rides. He does great in his crate, sleeps through the night, and handles being home alone very well. Zeno is still working on house training. He’s improving with going potty outside but doesn’t yet signal when he needs to go and has had some accidents—likely impacted by a suspected case of giardia. With routine and consistency, he’s making progress. Zeno hasn’t met other animals or kids yet, so slow introductions will be key. His ideal home is a patient, loving one that will help him build confidence and continue learning. In return, he’ll be a sweet, loyal companion who just wants to be close to his people.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $400. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
