More about Daphne
It’s hard to imagine how Daphne spent over six months at the shelter without anyone coming to look for her or choosing to adopt her. Sadly, life was even tougher before her shelter days. When she was around five months old, Daphne was found dumped in a park with multiple puncture wounds. She must have had an angel looking over her to get her off the streets and into the safety of a shelter. Thankfully, it wasn’t a high-kill shelter. Despite her rough start, Daphne hasn’t let it dampen her spirit. Daphne is one of our newest rescues, and this girl couldn’t be happier to be part of the Coastal K9 family. She is a young, spunky 1–2 year-old female who is very affectionate and responsive to her handlers. She still has that puppy energy and curiosity, happily discovering all the good things her new life has to offer. While at the shelter, Daphne passed her dog-to-dog interaction evaluation, and so far at the Ranch she has shown great interest in making new canine friends. One of her new playmates is Dash, another recent Coastal K9 rescue. The two play wonderfully together and look like they will be great friends. As time goes on, we’ll continue introducing Daphne to more members of the pack. Daphne has adjusted nicely to life at the Ranch, settling into our routine and meeting new people. If you think you might be the right home for Daphne, we’d love to hear from you. Please visit http://www.coastalk9gsr.org/to learn more about our dogs. Don't forget to fill out our online application The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers. We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Check our our website to see where we'll be next!
