More about Pita chip
Do you have room in your heart for this little girl? Pita is about one and a half years old and 20 pounds. She is was recently dropped at a high kill shelter. She was missing part of her front right leg and seemed to have a few other issues, but her spunky personality caught our eye. It appears the leg loss was not a birth defect or surgical but rather the result of a traumatic injury (possibly hit by a car). Pita is blind in her right eye as well. After careful consideration, we made the decision to amputate the remaining portion of the limb - Pita would try to walk on it and that resulted in abrasions on the stump and multiple "face plants" every day. The surgery was rough but Pita has bounced back with her usual enthusiasm. She is a sweet girl, loves her treats, and is house broken. PitaChip will steal your heart along with your slippers. Pita loves to chase rabbits and run in the yard. She is a bundle of exuberance and energy. Pita is happiest when she is with people. She is a good eater and enjoys a good snuggle. If you would like to meet Pita and hear her full story, fill out an application at bcaaofnj.org.
