Zander is a 7-year-old Chihuahua mix who weighs just 7.7 pounds. This little guy may be shy at first, but with a little patience and kindness, his sweet personality quickly begins to shine. He likes to take a moment to observe new people and surroundings, but once he feels comfortable, he warms up beautifully and shows his affectionate side. After he comes out of his shell, Zander enjoys cuddling and being close to his person. He is fairly laid back and content to relax nearby, happily keeping you company throughout the day. While he has a calm nature, he still enjoys some playtime and will gladly join in when the mood strikes. Zander is looking for a patient home that will give him the time and reassurance he needs to feel safe and confident. In return, he will offer loyal companionship and plenty of sweet snuggles. This pup will truly thrive in a home with a canine companion. We’d love to see him adopted with one of his siblings (Ziggy Bob Marley, Zelda, or Charles) or into a home that already has a confident, friendly dog to show him the ropes. Having a built-in best friend will help him feel safe, build confidence, and blossom into his happiest self. His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
