Hi, I’m Flora I got to go on a big adventure during a Barks and Rec outing, and I’m still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. At first, the trail by Lake Natoma felt a little overwhelming — there were bikes, strollers, and lots of unexpected sounds. Sometimes I had to stop and sniff for a long time or just pause to take everything in. I can be a bit nervous when things surprise me, but with gentle encouragement, I started to feel braver.I was very polite with other dogs, even when small ones barked at me. I mostly just ignored them. I may freeze up when I see a dog my size, but I’m not loud or reactive — just unsure and curious.Later, I relaxed at the park, sitting sweetly on a bench and watching the world from a comfortable distance. I even wagged my tail and happily accepted pets from kind strangers.I also met a cat who came very close, and I was calm and respectful — I’m not sure how I feel about cats.Sometimes I just need a moment to feel safe and figure things out. But once I know I can trust you, my sweet side starts to peek through.  I’m just looking for someone patient and kind who will give me the time to blossom into the confident, loyal best friend I know I can be. This pretty girl recently met some social dogs at our shelter and did fine.  She wasn’t ready to play, but we hope that as she gets more experience in our shelter playgroups, she’ll be ready to show us her silly side with other dogs.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we're a match!  Check out her playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm.
