More about Mango - Adoption Fee Paid!
Adult (exact age unknown) Spayed female Had a front leg amputated. She does not require treatment. No known experience with cats, dogs, or children Has tested positive for FIV* Mango is a quiet, gentle girl who may not demand your attention, but once you start petting her (or shake the treat bag!), she’s all in. She truly loves to be loved and happily leans into every bit of affection you offer. When Mango arrived, she had a severely injured leg, likely from being caught in a leg-hold trap. Even through the pain and uncertainty, she remained incredibly sweet. Thanks to our medical team, her leg was amputated and she’s now able to live a comfortable, pain-free life. She doesn’t require ongoing treatment, but her new family should make sure her food, water, and litter box are easily accessible without stairs. Keeping her at a healthy weight will also be important to protect her remaining joints and prevent future strain. Mango has already shown just how resilient and loving she is. In a caring home that looks out for her needs, she’ll be a devoted, grateful companion who proves that three legs are more than enough for a full, happy life. Mango spent time in a foster home and her foster family said "Mango is a very sweet, loving girl who LOVES to be pet. She will push herself into your hand so hard she sometimes falls flat on her face! She happily greets you at the door with adorable meows, waiting for you to give her some affection. She gets around very well and will even jump up onto cat trees and the windowsill." Thanks to a generous sponsor Mango's adoption fee has already been paid! *Mango has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). It is not contagious to people or other species of pets. It is passed from cat to cat by deep bite wounds (like those inflicted during serious fights), blood transfusions, and rarely from mother cats to their kittens. Studies have shown that spayed/neutered and cat-friendly FIV+ cats can live with FIV- cats without risk of transmission. FIV suppresses the cat's immune system which makes it easier for them to get sick and harder for them to fight off sickness. When kept as well-cared for indoor pets, FIV+ cats often lead normal, healthy lives.
