More about La Nina
Meet the girls!3/6/26Update - This girl is the most outgoing and affectionate love bug! If you are looking for a loving kitty this is her! This beautiful trio of girls (Mom - Santa Maria and her daughters - Pinta and La Nina) came to ARWOB late January when we received a plea for help from the neighbor of her owner. These girls owner was an elderly lady who lived alone and had taken the mama cat in when she was found in the streets with her kittens who where just born. Several kititens had not made it but these 2 kittens had and where taken in by her to nurture them. She built a catio for them in her condo and kept them there since she was allergic to cats. Sadly, she passed away in December 2025 and the cats where left in the catio until they figured out what to do with them. After 2 months of feeding them and checking in on them trying to have local city shelters to take them in and nothing. They finally reached out to rescue groups. We had room and took them in. They are now fully vetted and ready for a home!2/23/26The girls are living at casa de arwob in the cat room on their own. Santa Maria and Nina are VERY social and loving towards humans, gentle kitties. Mom wants nothign to do with her girls and tolerates them so she would be best as an only cat. She will need someone who will give her time to acclimate as her first instinct is to hide or climb on high areas. Nina is very outgoing seeking pets. She likely would be a good kitty for a home with other cats as she is very indifferent to them. We have yet to see both sisters interact mainly because Pinta will need a VERY experienced cat person, she is an angel but VERY shy. She will enjoy being petted but when she is let down into the ground she will seek refuge into a a cubby or under something. She would be fine with other cats but likely will ignore them until she feels comfortable. ALL 3 girls can be adopted as singletones. Likely no dogs or children for Pinta but Santa and Nina could get used to easy going kids/dogs with time. We can certainly see the girls seeking attention and playing when they feel comfortable which can take a month or longer.
