More about Scout (FIV+) - Pending Adoption
Scout is a 4.5-year-old, handsome tuxedo looking for his forever home!Scout is a total social butterfly who thrives on being part of the action. He loves spending time with his foster parents and charming their human friends. When he’s not soaking up attention, you can find him perched by a window keeping tabs on the neighborhood or attempting to scale anything that looks even remotely climbable (whether it actually is or not!). He’s a big fan of wand toys, and thanks to his lanky, gangly build, he needs plenty of space to leap, pounce, and show off his impressive moves. While he’s a brave little explorer at heart, Scout is happiest when he can curl up beside his favorite person for cuddles and affection.Scout is a medium-energy guy - past his wild kitten days but still playful and full of personality. He’s quite the chatterbox and isn’t shy about sharing his thoughts in the cutest little meow. If you step into another room and Scout decides it’s time to hang out, he’ll absolutely let you know!In his current foster home, Scout lives with two humans, two resident cats, and three small dogs in a multi-level single-family home. He needed a little time and patience to warm up to the resident cats, but now they coexist happily and roam the house together. He tolerates the oldest, calmest dog but finds the other two a bit too energetic for his taste. With respectful, mellow pups, he would likely do just fine.Scout would thrive in a variety of home environments. With slow, thoughtful introductions, he could live comfortably with other calm, independent cats and/or dogs. Although he hasn’t met children in his foster home, he absolutely adores people and would likely be delighted to have a small human friend to dote on.Scout is FIV+, but it doesn’t slow him down one bit! Cats with FIV commonly live long, normal, healthy lives. Because FIV is spread primarily through deep bite wounds, FIV+ cats can safely live with FIV- cats in stable, well-managed homes. His foster family has seen firsthand that with patience and proper introductions, Scout can build positive feline friendships.Scout came into foster care with his former housemate, Tank, and their relationship wasn’t the healthiest. Tank is now thriving as a solo cat, and Scout has blossomed with the help of his patient feline roommates. Due to his history and FIV+ status, slow, careful introductions to any resident cats will be essential. Plan for 2–4 weeks of gradual integration to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable. If you’re looking for a charming, affectionate, talkative companion with movie-star good looks and a heart full of love, Scout might just be your perfect match!- - - - - - - - - - - - -There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown.
