Beau is a 9 year old neutered male cat. He is friendly and looking for a home without other cats (he has previously got along well with a dog and younger children). Here’s what his foster volunteer says about him: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Beau is extremely loving, happy and affectionate. He enjoys being with people, whether sitting curled up next to them, or on a lap. He is playful, a little mischievous and very dedicated to the timing of his breakfast, but overall very well behaved and easy to care for. He is a wonderful companion and will happily spend most of his time with you, purring and resting. Does the cat enjoy being pet? He loves being pet and will seek out company frequently If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? Head, back, stomach Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? No Does the cat come on your lap? Yes, Beau loves to sit on my lap and will frequently curl up as long as I am sitting still Does the cat like to be held? Yes, he is happy to be picked up, but will want to get down after a few minutes Does the cat sleep in your bed? Yes, he will spend as much time in bed as I am there, and will frequently curl up next to me Does the cat seek your attention? Yes, he absolutely loves people and is very much an active companion Does the cat like to play? Yes, he loves catnip and also running around after string-based toys What are the cat's favorite games and toys? He loves toys that have catnip in them, strings that he can run/jump after and he has an enrichment puzzle toy for treats that he enjoys How vocal is the cat? He purrs frequently and will meow every once in awhile What kinds of sounds does the cat make? He will intermittently meow when he's hungry or is looking for attention Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Yes, occasionally If no, please explain. Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? Beau is eating a dry food (commercially available) that is formulated to promote urinary health due to urinary stones several years ago once. He is also eating a can of wet food in the morning and a broth in the evening) Is the cat picky about food? No What is the cat's favorite treat? He loves the dry temptations treats Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? no Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? No Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? He is very social. He may briefly be a bit nervous, but warms up quickly and will be extremely friendly If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? I have not observed Beau with other animals. In his previous home he got along well with a dog but did not get along with another cat. Beau would do best as an only cat, but potentially with a dog friend. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? He loves to curl up on my shoulder anytime I'm laying down and purr right next to my ear. He is incredibly affectionate and loves company. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? Beau is absolutely a companion cat for someone who enjoys an animal who is very present day to day. He lays or sits next to me as often as he can and will frequently curl up on my lap. Anyone looking for a joyous, friendly and playful companion will hit the jackpot with Beau. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? He is extremely easy going, I have not observed any challenges, behavioral or otherwise.
